Alexis Underwood Black


    Master Choreographer

Alexis has grown up in Lake Mary, FL. With a true passion for dance, she began competing at the age of 7. She trained with some of the top choreographers in the country including Deborah Barnes, Rj Mitchell, Mandy Moore, and Nick Lazzarini. From the age of 14, Alexis toured the country assisting/choreographing award winning routines for Top Dance Studios. In the summer of 2009, Alexis interned with world renowned studio Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Alexis has performed in several productions with Hardrive Productions Inc. out of Orlando, FL and also spent a year as a Dancer at Walt Disney World . Alexis graduated from The University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Alexis began teaching and choreographing at the age of 16 and has found a true love for sharing her passion of dance with her students. 


Jason Kalish


Jason Kalish has been teaching the art of American Tap Dance for over 25 years.  His performance credits include: Rock N Rio Las Vegas, Rose Rabbit Lie, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Jaimie Fox, Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander, Harry Connick Jr., LeAnn Rimes, The Eagles, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Huey Lewis and the News, Jack Black, Stacy Keach, Theodore Bikel, Saundra Santiago, Gregory Hines, Tony Coppola Rhythm Ensemble, Dein Perry’s Tap Dogs, 42nd Street, Crazy For You, Evita, The King and I, Camelot, The Fiddler On the Roof, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and Giselle.  Jason has been an adjunct Professor of tap dance at Kennesaw State University. 



David Mann is the artist in residence at Fancy Feet Studios in Charlotte, NC, 
the founder and head choreographer of DMannTapp, and is the mastermind and 
creative powerhouse behind The Shootout dance convention and competition. 

David's performance credits include Victor in Smoky Joe's Cafe, NBC, Paramount, 
Hugo Boss, and various cruise lines. His students can be seen on Broadway, on 
national and international dance tours, on cruise ships, and on national television. 
David's innovative choreography and style have appeared on Good Morning America, 
America's Most Talented Kids, America's Got Talent, and in the national tours of 
On Tap, Road to Victory, and Dr. Doolittle starring Tommy Tune. 

David was recently named Dance Instructor of the Year by Dancer Magazine. David's 
unique style of tap is recognized and sought after throughout the country. Whether
it is in his weekly technique classes at Dancers Edge, or his cutting edge 
choreography, Dancers Edge is privileged to have one of the best 
tap instructors and choreographers in the country on staff.

Tokyo Kevin Inouye

Kevin "Tokyo" Inouye has taken the IDEAL journey up to where he is now, and that is due to his hard work and dedication towards his students and his teaching. If you have ever taken a class with Tokyo, you know that he starts every class with a talk, and ends it in a talk as well. Tokyo is more than just a choreographer, he is an honest teacher. Tokyo started off doing most of his work with Steps Dance Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Last year Tokyo made the decision to move to LA and take his career to the next level. Those who have been to Los Angeles and know dance, know that Millennium is one of the hottest spots to take class from some of the best choreographer out there. Well, Tokyo wasn't living in LA for more than a few months before he landed a weekly job at Millennium.
Tokyo has started his own company (TOKYOtheCOMPANY) and is touching the lives of his students in every way he can, making him one of the most feared choreographers in the industry by fellow choreographers. His popularity is blowing through the roof and seems to consistently growing as each day goes by.
Tokyo has been fortunate enough to have done master classes and choreography in the US, Canada, Finland, Poland, Costa Rica, Australia, France and UK for many studios, companies, casinos and colleges, most notably the prestigious Juilliard School.
He has also been invited to teach on several main stream dance conventions including Coastal Dance Rage, NRG Dance Project and Intrigue Dance Intensive, just to name a

Andrea Beckett Woodward

Andrea Woodward is the owner of Hermitage Dance Academy (HDA).  HDA was opened in the fall of 1997, one year into Andrea’s college studies at Cumberland University.  HDA has gone from a one room studio with about 50 students, where Andrea taught every class to a 5 room studio with a dancewear store, a hugely successful competition team, and recently the addition of the School’s Out Program and the Parent’s Day Out Program, complete with an amazing staff of over 15 passionate teachers. Andrea’s teaching and choreography are in demand throughout the country and she travels often to teach master classes and create choreography for other studios. She also is on staff for the popular KAR Convention National Tour, where she teaches lyrical and jazz. HDA was in the FDC’s top 50 in 2008 and in 2009 her studio was ranked number 8 among the FDC studios. In 2010 her studio was ranked #1 in the Southeast region and #10 in the nation.

 Andrea has won countless awards for her stylistic choreography and for her students’ technical ability, including both Teacher of the Year and Choreographer of the Year every year from 2008 - 2018 at KAR Nationals. Andrea is certified by Dance Masters of America and holds a B.S. in Psychology from Cumberland University in Nashville, TN.
